    Atmosphere - Wonderful
    Food - Fresh and delicious
    Service - Aaaahhhmazing

I love that this establishment offers children's "mini boxes".  It gave my youngest son the opportunity to try shrimp tempura, and in a fun presenting way.  And guess what? HE LOVED IT.   They helped break the barrier of the pickiest eater in the world.

    Thank you!

Here I am, typing with my thumbs lying down between trips to the can spraying chunky projectile vomit from one end and ass coffee violently from the other, and I am reflecting on my Top 3 Worst experiences in the last few months.  They are:

    1. Wisdom teeth extraction
    2. Current stomach flu situation
    3. Ordering take-out from Nori Sushi

Nori Sushi's menu is heavy on the sushi/rolls but also serves katsu, tempura, salad and typical combos.  Free parking in the large plaza. The place is dark.  Decor includes a  water feature with a wheel in the middle. They have a tatami area with mandatory 18% gratuity.  There's also a sushi counter.

On a particular Sunday i was tasked with picking up Hawaiian BBQ and also sushi rolls for a small party and this plaza in Mission Viejo offers both, so here I was.

I ordered take-out of 5 rolls for a little under $60: Jungle tiger, Superman burrito, Machoman burrito, dragon roll, and one more with the tempura/popcorn of some sort on top.  While the food tasted OK - typical American-style Japanese sushi rolls that tasted as expected, the staff's attitude stank as much as the acidic diarrhea-farts that I am pumping out right now

So I poke my head in, about 5pm on a quiet Sunday, and there was only one table occupied.  A waitress hollers at me and I reply in a softer voice "takeout?" She waves me over and points at an empty table near the cash register.  The menu is dropped off.

I couldn't remember if a Dragon roll is the one with unagi so I get up and asked the sushi chef since the waitress disappeared into the kitchen.  Not sure if he has resting butt face or if my question was too basic, but he gave me a nod with an annoyed face.

I get up and order with an older waitress at the cash register, who also was grumpy.  She hollers to the back in Korean, runs my credit card and I sign and hand back the top receipt.  Then she tells me "40 minutes."  Just like that.

At this point there were 2 tables, maybe 3 but they hadn't ordered.  I sit down in disbelief.  She couldn't tell me this beforehand?   I was running late already + 40 minutes + the drive = really late.  I hate being late.  I thought about cancelling my order but decided at this point they'll just tell me it's too late.

Everyone who came in at this point was told 40 minutes before they were allowed to sit, and one guy decided to get take-out instead and he gets his roll shortly after.

Meanwhile, I go to the bathroom and come out finding the table I was waiting at is now occupied.  There were other tables open but I decided to sit on the steps in front of the tatami area in consideration of not taking up a table.

A mother and her two kids walk in and the mom requests to sit in the tatami area, adding that they'll meet the minimum for sure.  The waitress gives her the long "uh..." while looking at the two open tatami tables for the longest time.  At last she lets them sit there but there were stipulations.

What made me really hate this place was when my order was finally ready.  The steps on which I was sitting are long.  Trying to not be in the way, I sat near one end.  The waitress literally drops the bag on the far end of the step, completely out of my reach, without saying a word.  So I ask, "Is this my order?  Is it everything?" And I get a curt Yes and she walks to a table.   At this point I was thinking, there is no fucking way I will ever come back again.

In all of my years living in Socal, I have never encountered a collective of such rude people.  Even at McDonald's, I never felt such unhappiness coming from the workers or unhappiness coming out of me.

I will gladly take this awful stomach flu again over ever coming back to this place.  The food tastes like every other sushi-roll joint but none of the others give me so much attitude.

Food: The food here is definitely better than most of the sushi in the area. They have a wide variety of fish to choose from which is great! Not many sushi restaurants in the area have the same quantity. Quality is good too.

Service: Extremely lacking. The service here definitely requires some work. I normally don't care for service bc I truly believe that if they have good food then why does it matter? But all three times we visited we were rushed. Most of the servers were nice and polite, just not attentitive or were just too busy.  The first two times we came there were only two servers on deck at basically a full house. The third time it seemed like there was only one. It always took us a while to grab a hold of a server to place our order. Our waters and drinks where never refilled unless we asked. We were given the bill when we weren't even half way done with our meal. It also took around 30 minutes to receive our boat. The party that came after us, that ordered an even bigger boat after we ordered ours, got their boat probably 10 minutes ahead of ours. After reading some other reviews, it seems like our experiences were just one of the very few bad ones. So hopefully you guys get a better service experience!

Pricing: Really great! Honestly, despite the service, I think the boats are really worth it. They give you so much! I also think the a LA carte sashimi and Sushi are worth it too!

Been on a bad roll lately with bad restaurants after bad restaurants. I've eaten at a wide array of sushi spots from Michelin stars to crappers like this. Service is horrendous, what's the point of sitting at the sushi bar when I have to order from the waitress?!?! The owner/sushi chef even turned people away since he had to many orders that he couldn't manage..Very strange to say the least...no apologizes to their patrons.
It's a shame. Please learn how to run your business and don't be cheap, hire additional help seems like you need it amongst other things.

Won't be back which is obvious.
Good luck with your business, I truly mean it. You're going to need it.

This place is a hidden gem in the most inconspicuous strip mall nestled behind a tire shop and CrossFit gym.

The restaurant is dark and decor is cute. Lanterns and bamboo and lights everywhere. Along with regular tables, they also have an area where you can dine the traditional way on the floor.

Service was great. Server was charming and made sure our drinks were always full.

We ordered the tornado roll, tempura jalapeño roll, baked muscles and spicy tuna roll. The jalapeño roll was amazing, not too spicy and the jalapeño was cooked perfectly. Spicy tuna roll was standard but pretty good and the baked muscles came on a bed of tempura crunchies that you can scoop up with your shell before you take a bite!

Now... I came here specifically because I was craving a tornado roll. This place puts cream cheese in the middle, which I wasn't aware of. I would've liked it more without, but it was my bad for not reading the description. The potato crunchies on the outside and as a garnish in the middle were the best though. I would totally order just a plate of the garnish as an appetizer.

Glad I stumbled on this place. Solid sushi spot with fresh fish and great ambiance. Their menu looks awesome for date night, and they have sushi boats that look pretty legit.
